All the work you see here is 100% dry Colored Pencil on white paper. Because colored pencil is such an exacting and slow medium each piece takes 200 to 300 hours to complete. I work daily, putting in 5 to 10 hours a day.
I am inspired by the beauty I see in ordinary things. I try to create artwork that conveys peacefulness and quiet. The beauty of botanicals. The peacefulness of certain interiors. Nostalgia is also a big part of my work. I work from my own still-life set-ups and photographs.
The next project is always on my mind. Keeping an eye out for the next beautiful subject is part of the fun. Long walks with the camera or even shopping at antique stores to gain inspiration is part of my routine.
I am a regular participant in competitions locally, entering about a dozen shows a year and have appeared in local and international shows and exhibits as well as magazines and galleries in Florida and California.
